Coach Spangler has been coaching lacrosse in Colorado since 1994 and is currently the Strength and Conditioning coach for the Denver Outlaws. He is also the Director of Champions Lacrosse Academy and serves as an assistant coach for the Warrior youth program in Highlands Ranch. During his career, Spangler has had the privilege of coaching youth, high school, collegiate and professional lacrosse teams throughout Colorado.
Spangler won a state championship as a player (East-Manual ’90) and as a coach (Arapahoe ’09 and Cherry Creek ’19) and was named RMILL Coach of the Year while at CU in 1999. Spangler is native to Colorado and raises his two children in Denver.
Coach Spangler’s Additional Highlights include:
– Major League Lacrosse champion in 2014, 2016, and 2018 with the Denver Outlaws.
– 3 Colorado high school lacrosse championships (East Manual 1990, Arapahoe 2009, Cherry Creek 2019)
– Coached 13 collegiate All Americans, 6 high school All Americans and 42 All Conference players.
– First Defensive Coordinator for the University of Denver during their transition to Division 1.
– 2nd team All-State player 1991 East Manual High School.
– Qualified for national tournament all 3 years while Head Coach at the University of Colorado.
– Top 10 national coach for CoachUp (9th June 2020).
